Change of Date: Black History Month Events

As Light Night is taking place on Friday the 6 October 2017 the BME Hub has made the decision to change the date of their planned event, this will now take place on Friday 13 October.
 
The second event remains unchanged and will take place on Friday 27 October.
 
Leeds’ BME Hub is marking and celebrating Black History Month 2017 with a  focus on education – inspired and stimulated by the book “The Mis – Education of the Negro” published in 1933 by Carter G Woodson, the founder and father of Black History Month.

The BME Hub will launch Black History Month on: Friday 13 October 2017 at RJC Dance, 6.30pm – 8.30pm. Tea, Coffee & biscuits will be served from 6pm

A celebration event will take place on Friday 27 October 2017 at RJC Dance, 6.30pm – 8.30pm.  Light refreshments will be served from 5.30pm.

Using presentations, testimonies and performance we will examine:  

·        What are our social and cultural educational problems?
·        What are the social and cultural aims of education?
·        What should they be?
