Celebrating Refugees in Yorkshire
On Friday 18th June at 2-3.30pm, Refugee Council and City of Sanctuary (Leeds) are hosting a regional, online MP engagement event for Refugee Week.
The event will bring together sanctuary seekers, MPs and their constituents from across our region to learn about refugees, hear their stories, and celebrate the contributions they make to our communities.
After hearing directly from speakers with a refugee background and learning about the history of the UN Convention on Refugees, we will hold roundtable discussions about the importance of the right to claim asylum.
Everyone is welcome! Come and help us celebrate refugees and show that in Yorkshire we stand #TogetherWithRefugees
