Between a rock and a hard place: Structural Vulnerabilities, Resilience and Migrant Communities-led responses to COVID-19 in West Yorkshire

Today the Racial Justice Network and Yorkshire Resists in conjunction with Queen Mary University of London and with financial support from Huddersfield University have released a new report written to draw attention to the experiences of migrant communities within West Yorkshire. The report discusses issues that arose from being caught between a rock and hard place that is policies, legislations and marginalisation that extend from structural racism whilst dealing with a global pandemic.

After listening to concerns coming from the communities we work with, we sought to further understand how they coped with it with regards to survival skills and other community responses as well as the lessons that ought to be learnt from it. This report comes with key findings and recommendations.

The report’s title is: Between a rock and a hard place: Structural Vulnerabilities, Resilience and Migrant Communities-led responses to COVID-19 in West Yorkshire
