Update from Nicki at Mears
- Mears have been communicating directly with service users regarding the switch [from Green to Orange Aspen Cards] and putting information in Initial Accommodation and Hotels.
- Mears have been asked to make available extra funds for Electronic Card Payments as we understand that not everyone will be able to or have the opportunity to withdraw the money they need prior to the switch.
- Mears have been asked for the Electronic Card Payments process to be in place at the beginning of next week – in case there are any issues lasting longer than expected.
- Mears have committed and confirmed to Home Ooffice that additional staff will be on duty over the weekend – to help deal with the anticipated demand.
- Electronic Card Payments can be accessed via the usual method – Migrant Help.
