Advonet Focus Group: Bill of Rights – Monday 25th April 2pm-3pm. Unity Business Centre

The Advonet Group’s monthly Focus Group meeting will look at the proposed ‘Bill of Rights’, which could replace the Human Rights Act, and how it affects marginalised communities. We have two guest speakers. Both will speak about the Bill of Rights and migration.

It takes place on Monday 25th April from 2pm-3pm in person at this address:

Room 2
Unity Business Centre
26 Roundhay Road
Leeds
LS7 1AB

The meeting is in-person and free to attend. It is open to anyone living in Leeds, including anyone who has accessed any Advonet Group services and health and social care professionals working in the city. https://tagfocusgroupapril22.eventbrite.co.uk/

If you have any questions about the meeting, please email [email protected].

Editorial comment – if you want to do some pre-reading on this, and find out what some other people think – why not have a look at the excellent response by JCWI on the consultation process and the Bill itself which starts with the question “Do we need to replace the Human Rights Act with a new Bill of Rights?” or for something a little less technical, the joint letter submitted by Bail for Immigration Detainees
