Advocacy Co-ordinator
Salary: SO 1 NJC Scale pt 29 £25,951
Hours: 35 hours per week Location: Cross Green, Leeds, LS9
Leeds GATE are looking for a dynamic and committed individual to lead our advocacy service. Our established, well used and highly regarded advocacy service works with Gypsies and Travellers across West Yorkshire to support equitable access, options and choice. We provide signposting and support and are often the primary service being accessed by our members. We work with our members to embed skills for self-advocacy.
Our frontline work is holistic and works across a number of themes as directed by our members which include; welfare rights, accommodation rights, consumer rights, healthcare access, education access, criminal justice and human rights and hate crime reporting.
The role will also assist in delivery of organisational priorities through maintaining a network of partners and contributing to the development of practice and policy.
The advocacy service has recently grown, expanding its knowledge and specialisms. At this exciting time for Leeds GATE we are looking for someone to lead on embedding and developing best practice within our advocacy service, whilst maintaining a member led approach.
